PDFMaker has to do a lot of things that can be fairly memory intsensive. It's written in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications, the MS Office VB platform) and inherits some of that language's inefficiencies.
Click Adobe PDF > Change Conversion settings and turn off settings you don't need for your document, and you should be able to prevent the error.
