Re: stills exported out of iPhoto to AE to be a mov - cropping, scaling questions
Alright. I went ahead and took what I had and completed the sequence. I also took the jpg's straight into AE window without making those a part of the sequence yet. I did not notice a quality loss, etc. between them. I then took the sequence (consisting of 4 stills animated - position, anchor, block dissolve, scaling, and luma key) and rendered it in AE 5.5 as to a Quicktime movie. Imported that into FCP3 as a sequence bringing it into the timeline where it will go. Upon viewing the Quicktime movie I noticed that something happened to the quality or artifacts appeared from the animated pics (which was not present in AE 5.5 ). I compared this on the same monitor looking at both the canvas and viewer (QT mov). Both windows tell the same story. Not really sure what the correct venacular is to describe it but in areas of the pics that contain darker shades or shadows with midtones it seems to show what looks to be slight motion flickering going on as the frames (NTSC fps) proceed along with the animation. I went and viewed it frame by frame quickly in the viewer window (Quicktime movie) and this problem is not present. Only when I play the entire movie or sequence in either the canvas or viewer window is it present. Without the animation I am sure it would not appear. Will this also appear on DVD? What if anything can I use to eliminate this problem? Other than that, the sequence looks good and the animation is as I want it to be.
