Also, watch out for the DX9 MS CODEC. In my experience, the DX9 codec has loads of artifacting compared to DX8s.
This is unfortunate since you cannot uninstall DX9 once installed. It's tricky, but you CAN reinstall the old codec, though! Now my fast risetime transitions look far less blocky..
